Admixtures for Readymix Concrete (RMC) Industry

Admixtures form an essential component in concrete technology along with cement, aggregates and water. Admixtures themselves are evolving rapidly, tailor made for each application. The admixtures introduced and explained in this section are tailor made for the Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) industry.

Maieco Chem

  • Substantial improvement in workability. Therefore, better concrete plasticity, better mixing, reduced W/C ratio.
  • Adequate retardation for transit.
  • Controls the quantum of air entrained.
  • Reduces bleeding.
  • Helps in maintaining the dimensions by reducing the shrinkage effect.
  • Reduced segregation of cement.
  • Significant increase in ultimate strength.
MYKOSIL SP 2039

Set retarding water reducing plasticizer for flowing concrete. Complies with "IS 9103 - 1999".

Product information

Aqueous solution of Naphthalene Formaldehyde modified for the desired applications.

Advantages
  • Water reducing admixture, therefore, substantial improvement in workability and pumpability.
  • Retards the setting within the limits of the said standards.
  • Therefore more time for transportation.
  • Reduces segregation.
  • Improved density and surface finish.
  • Chloride free. Does not attack reinforcement or prestress cables.
  • Significant increase in ultimate strength.
  • No excessive air entrainment.
  • No adverse shrinkage effect, especially suitable for hot climates.
  • Reduces job timing and saves water.
  • Better consolidation and self leveling properties.

Colour : Brown

Odour : Faint odour

Form : Liquid

Chloride content : Nil

TEA content : Nil

Specific gravity : 1.19 at 25°C

Packing : 2201itre drum, 301itre carboy

Shelf life : 12 months from the date of manufacture under factory packing condition.

Storage conditions : In ambient temperaturesranging 5 ° C to 50 ° C.

Used in/for
  • Ready mix concrete and traditional on site concrete.
  • Slender components with dense reinforcement.
  • Pre-cast concrete elements.
Usage
  • Mix the required dosage of Mykosil SP 2039 with water which is to be added for the concrete mix.
  • When added separately to a freshly mixed concrete, it is to be mixed thoroughly at least for a minute.
Dosage

0.6 to 1.5% w/w of the cementitious content. The dosage and its performance depends on factors such as ambient temperature, mixing equipment, grade of concrete, delay to lay, cement grade, aggregates used, w/c ratio

Health and Safety Information

Eye contact

:

Flush eyes with water very thoroughly.

Skin contact

:

Properly wash the exposed areas after use

Personal protection

:

Wear goggles or face shield and impermeable gloves where product may splash.

Spill or leak procedures

:

Area should be washed clean and the product to be transferred for disposal.
